Lake Street Reconstruction Public Information Centre

The City is preparing to undertake reconstruction of Lake Street, from Ontario Street to Welland Avenue, in summer 2022, with a commitment to improving the City’s infrastructure.

Lake Street is a medium-density residential and mixed-use urban corridor. The City aspires to improve this corridor’s infrastructure.

The proposed construction project includes:

• Roadway reconstruction
• Improvements to sidewalk infrastructure
  • replacement of all sidewalks to improve condition
  • addition of sidewalk along Montebello Park
  • widening in some areas
  • installation of tactile warning plates for accessibility
• Sanitary sewer replacement
• Watermain replacement

During construction, parking along Lake Street will be restricted. Residents are asked to park in driveways or find alternative parking on the nearby streets.

Prior to the start of construction, the City is seeking the input of area residents on the proposed plans.
